When your daughter announces that she is quitting her job in NYC as a fashion designer to move to a remote mountain village in Peru and do volunteer work for 6 months, you do what any parent would do–go check it out and make sure it’s safe. The added advantage of being in stunningly scenic Peru made for an incredible family trip. Our oldest daughter, Krissa, lives in a beautiful little town called Ollantaytombo, only 26 miles from Machu Picchu. It’s hard to describe how incredible the scenery and people are so I won’t try. Instead, just check out some of the images on my site.
